Arasteh, Culp named Members of the Year

The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) just awarded two recipients its first annual Dariush Arasteh Memorial Member-of-the-Year Award.

The first recipient was Arasteh himself, who received the award posthumously. Christian Kohler and Charlie Curcija from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) accepted the award on behalf of Arasteh, also an LBNL employee, who was heralded as an NFRC pioneer and fenestration expert.

Arasteh was also recognized for his innovative contributions and insight, which proved integral to NFRC’s creation and early development.

Tom Culp of Birchpoint Consulting received the second award. Culp began his career in the fenestration industry as a research scientist studying low-E coatings. In recent years, he has spent his time as an advocate for energy efficiency and code consulting.

Both recipients were acknowledged for their diplomatic approach to teamwork and their unique ability to bring people together to get things done
