An online article dated November 11, 2011 says Lawrence Berkeley
National Laboratory (LBNL) is conducting research associated with windows that could
be controlled by a one’s own heating and cooling system -- adjusting them based on
the weather.
Stephen Selkowitz, former member of the National Fenestration Rating Council’s (NFRC) Board of Directors and head of building technologies at Berkeley Lab says this emerging technology, "...can help make buildings more efficient, and that means big cost savings."
